House Special Committee on Redistricting Has Begun Scheduling “Community Input Sessions”

The House Redistricting Committee is – and will be – scheduling Community Input Sessions throughout the state over the next several weeks. Rep. Barbara Griffin (R-Goffstown) is planning to hold one session in each of the state’s ten counties. The House deadline for reporting out committee retained bills — including the redistricting bills — for consideration during the 2022 session is November 18th (though a suspension of the rules could be requested). No redistricting map drafts have been presented or discussed at the committee level thus far. Most likely, no redistricting map drafts will be released prior to the conclusion of the “Community Input Sessions.”

Here is a list of the currently scheduled Community Input Sessions:-

Tuesday, Sept. 14: Merrimack County, Old County Courthouse, 5 Court Street, Concord, 6:00 pm.

Wednesday, Sept. 22: Straffod County, County Courthouse, 259 County Farm Rd. #6, Dover, 6:00 pm.

Thursday, Sept. 30: Hillsborough County, NH Institute of Politics, 100 Saint Anselm Drive, Manchester, 6:00 pm.

Republican leadership has not made provisions for online or local government channel broadcasting of these sessions, or for remote participation by committee members who are unable to attend due to health concerns or distance, or to the public.
